Jag Star’s latest album Static Bliss is built on the foundations of dreamy synthesizer melodies, pulsating drum beats, solid bass lines and silky smooth vocals that create modern pop fairytales. Lead singer and songwriter Sarah Lewis embraces the idea that less truly is more by sticking to stripped down songs writing rather than relying on an army of overdubs.

“Talk to Me” sounds like an explosive start to a ladies night out or the perfect soundtrack to a fashion show, but it paves the way for stunning beauty to strut down a sidewalk or a runway. It really is no surprise why a song as upbeat and energetic as “Talk to Me” was featured on the latest season of the hit MTV reality series “The Hills”. The enchanting piano interlude in “Rewind” tells the tale of a girl wishing she could spin back the clock to a time when she didn’t take her life and the love she held for granted. The song “A Different Road” features Lewis’ voice flying high over a palette of guitar hooks and charming acoustic guitar chords, showing the bands’ chops as pop songwriters rather than just sticking to playing synthesizers.

The album sounds like a Siamese brainchild of someone hooked on old school Metric combined with the cute keyboards of Postal Service while bringing the pages of their diary to life through their own experiences. If you are looking for an album that deals with hopeless romance, chasing your dreams, and following your heart wherever it may take you, Jag Star will have you hooked.
